Snickerdoodles
Ingredients:
1 cup margarine
1 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
4 eggs
5 ½ cups flour
4 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
4 Tbls sugar
4 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º.
Cream together margarine, shortening, sugar, and eggs. In separate bowl combine all dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Set aside.
In a small bowl combine 4 Tbls sugar and 4 tsp cinnamon. Set aside.
Form cookie dough into 1” round balls. Roll each ball in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place about 3 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400º for 8-10 minutes. Cookies will be soft. Cool on pan for a few minutes and then transfer to wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
